James Cochrane-Dyet is serving as a Lieutenant in the Household Cavalry and will be running the Hastings Half Marathon in March and the London Marathon in April in uniform, boots and carrying a 37lb pack. James will be running for the Household Cavalry Foundation (HCF). The charity provides charitable and pastoral support to all the members of Household Cavalry family: serving Soldiers, Operational Casualties and Veterans, including combating the long-term effects of both physical and psychological injuries.
Last year, a friend of James ran the London Marathon for the HCF in memory of his brother, Trooper James Munday, who was tragically killed in action by an Improvised Explosive Device in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. The HCF has been close to his family’s and community’s heart due to the unwavering support that James’ extended army family has provided since their terrible loss, and James says he is honoured to be supporting the HCF again this year.
