In memory of the comedian, singer and actor Lance Percival who died on 6 January 2015 we have reproduced here an interview made with Lance in May 2000 and published in The Shirburnian.

John Lancelot Blades Percival came to Sherborne in April 1947 from Earlywood School, Ascot.  A member of School House, he became a House Prefect and was in both the 2nd XI cricket and 2nd XI hockey teams.  He left Sherborne in December 1951 and joined the army to carry out his National Service.

Lance Percival is probably best remembered for his film roles in Carry on Cruising (1962) and Up Pompeii (1971) and his TV appearances in the 1960s on TWTWTW (That Was The Week That Was).
