I’m not sure how closely you follow the School’s news but I’m sure you’ll be delighted to hear that the OS Pilgrims have won the annual Alumni Cross Country race for the prestigious King Henry VIII School Old Boys Trophy an unprecedented three years on the trot.
We are aiming this year not only to retain our trophy – and start pushing on towards being the first team to win 5 years in succession this century – but also to see if we can win the V40, V50 & V60 categories too.
The race is on Saturday 17th December on Wimbledon Common at 14:30, hosted by Thames Hare & Hounds and is run on the 5m version of the Blues course. http://www.thameshareandhounds.org.uk/alumni.php
For inspiration here is a picture of last year’s winning team; we have plenty of team strips available!
Lloyd Collier [D, 1990] has kindly agreed to act as the team administrator and secretary. Please email him at email@example.com to let him know whether you can make it and/or with any questions.
There is also a Facebook group “Old Shirburnian Pilgrims Cross Country” which we’d love you to join and where there is a current discussion regarding a possible venue for a post-race debrief and libation…
Imagine the sight of us not only mobbing the field with a massive turnout, hopefully Harry Lane and James Sewry going even better than in 14 & 15, our retaining the trophy and winning the Vets!
Even if you don’t make our scoring team, you help push other runners down the order and increase others’ scores so every man counts…
You can be there and play your part.
Lloyd Collier (d 90)
