With the 2013-14 Stanger Leathers Series victory already in the bag, 6 battle hardened old boys and girls descended on Sutton Bingham to uphold the formidable reputation of the OSS.
With a light forecast, the heavyweight OSS team promptly ignored their crash-diet plans issued by the team nutritionist, opting for a hearty pub lunch to launch proceedings and discuss tactics.
Some exciting, competitive racing followed with the OS rounding-off the series with a 4-1 victory against a tough and determined foe. Highlight of the day goes to Robert Gosling and Freddie Saunders for using the law of conservation of momentum to circumnavigate the fleet parked at the wing mark to leap-frog from 5th to 1st.
Victory was celebrated with curry and beers back in Sherborne, with a number of the OS and boys heading down to Arne on the Sunday for a more leisurely sail.
The next Stanger Leathes will be on Saturday 8th November, and will see the inauguration of the new fleet of team-racing 420s at Sutton Bingham, with something a bit special planned.
