An extract from his memorial notice
There was no finer person on this earth than Peter Rainsford Brown, who passed away suddenly on May 7, 2012, at 76. We will never forget the man he was. He was a man who woke up to each day renewed, excited and delighted to be alive. Living life to its fullest with joy in his heart at every step, he worked alongside his wife in business and in life. He was a friend to many as a jazz musician who played the trumpet with passion in the Apex Jazz Band. Peter was also an avid golfer and as he wanted to continue working as opposed to the possibility of retirement , he decided to rather take on a second job… Golf! As proven on May 7th as he played 18 holes of golf. Generous, Devoted and Passionate are words to describe this exceptional human being. We will remember Peter playing his trumpet at family gatherings, or preparing his culinary delights. We will remember his endearing attention to detail and smile at all of our memories with him. His loss is felt by everyone whom he touched with grace, integrity, honesty and humour. Peter is survived by his wife, Susan Brown, who loved and cherished him for 35 years, his daughter Anna Gonzalez Brown, her husband Jaime Gonzalez and their son Tiago, who take comfort in knowing they will always have a personal angel to protect them. Peter’s sister, Paula and her husband Peter Higgs in England along with large extended families on both sides of the pond, all whose hearts are broken, for we have lost a soul that loved every moment of his existence.
