It is with great sadness that we learnt of the death of Peter Currie in early February at the great age of 91.
Peter served on the Sherborne staff from 1947 until his retirement in 1982. He was the founding father and first housemaster of The Digby, made huge contributions to Sherborne hockey and golf, taught virtually all subjects at one time or another and was Acting Headmaster for a period in 1974. Peter was also a great supporter of the OSS and had been helping us plan The Digby 50th Anniversary Dinner right up to the time of his death and had recently done his usual meticulous job in proof reading the OS Record.
Peter’s Memorial Service is being held in Sherborne Abbey at 3.00 p.m. on Friday May 16th.
Judy, Mark and their families would naturally be delighted if you wish to come to Peter’s Memoria and join them for tea afterwards in the newly refurbished JCR. May I ask if you could let us know if you are attending so that we have some idea of numbers for service sheets/catering etc? A quick email is all that’s needed.
