H.R. King’s diary entry for Election Day, 1923.

The last time a general election was held in December was in 1923 when the Conservative Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin called a general election for Thursday, 6 December 1923.

At Sherborne School, the 1923 election debate was followed keenly by masters and pupils alike and in the School Archives can be found the reactions of a 68-year-old schoolmaster and an 18-year-old pupil.
