Can you believe it is 25 years since Code Crackers was performed at Sherborne School? Where has the time gone?!
Written by Garry Wilkinson (Head of Brass) and Andrew Wilkinson, Code Crackers was commissioned by Headmaster Peter Lapping as part of the celebrations to mark the 450th anniversary of the signing of Sherborne School’s Royal Charter by Edward VI.
Set in wartime England, the story revolves around a Nazi plot to kidnap the guest of honour at Sherborne School’s annual prize giving – Alan Turing!
Code Crackers was performed in the BSR on 27-30 June 2000, by a cast and orchestra from Sherborne Boys’ (including a certain Charlie Cox), Sherborne Girls’ and St Antony’s Leweston. The production was directed by Stuart Hargreaves, with costumes by Patricia Harris, set design by Mark Friend, choreography by Pip Buckingham, and the musical director was Paul Ellis.
